Episode 518 – Finding health in your finances, friendships, and fitness

The 3 areas that tend to stress small business people are finances, relationships, and personal health. In this episode Reagan and I have a heart to heart conversation on recent stresses we’ve both had to manage, and what we’ve learned along the way.

My prescription for good physical health.

  1. Physical exercise once per day, 6 days a week. Keep heart rate around 70% of max heart rate for that hour. To figure out your max heart rate subtract your age from 220 and multiple that number by 70%.
  2. Eat within an 8hour window every day only. This could be 8am – 4pm or 12pm – 8pm. But only eat during that time.
    1. Eat within that window 3 times
      1. include 4-6oz of lean protein, 1-2 cup of vegetables, Tablespoon of a healthy fat, 1/2 cup of fruit.
      2. drink 1 gallon of water a day
      3. have one cheat meal per week. Eat anything you want
  3. Try to get 6-8 hours of sleep

My prescription for financial heath.

  1. Find a side hustle you love and own.
  2. Keep housing expenses. (mortgage/rent, food, utilities, etc) under 2 weeks of pay.
  3. Save 10% and give 10% of gross

My prescription for friendship / relational health.

  1. Invest in your closest family 70% of your non-work time
  2. Invest in your close family / friends 20% of your non-work time
  3. Invest in your community friends 10% of your non-work time
