These 4 thoughts can accelerate your growth
In Psalms 139:23-24 King David lays out a prayer that isolates four principles that I believe can have a profound impact on your both your personal and professional life. I’m teaching on this prayer in the month of July at my home church but wanted to share it with my business community as well because I believe it not only can have a huge impact on a persons spiritual life but their professional career as well.
In the fast-paced and ever-changing world of entrepreneurship, where risks and challenges abound, it’s crucial for entrepreneurs to seek guidance and wisdom from a higher power. The timeless words of the Psalmist David, in Psalms 139:23-24, offer a profound prayer that resonates deeply with the hearts of entrepreneurs. This prayer encapsulates four essential thoughts that can guide entrepreneurs on their journey towards success and fulfillment. Let’s explore each of these thoughts in detail.
Searching the Heart: “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” – Psalm 139:23
Entrepreneurship is not only about external factors such as market trends, competition, and strategies. It’s also an inward journey that requires self-reflection and self-awareness. In this part of the prayer, David asks for divine intervention in understanding the depths of his heart. Similarly, entrepreneurs should regularly examine their motivations, fears, and desires. By delving deep into their hearts, entrepreneurs can gain clarity on their true passions and align their business endeavors accordingly.
Knowing the Thoughts: “See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” – Psalm 139:24
Entrepreneurs are often consumed by a multitude of thoughts, ideas, and decisions. Amidst the chaos, it’s essential to seek divine guidance in distinguishing between what is right and what is not. David implores God to identify any offensive ways within him, allowing him to rectify his actions and align with a higher purpose. Entrepreneurs can learn from this plea and strive for self-improvement, acknowledging their shortcomings, and embracing a path that upholds ethical values, integrity, and social responsibility.
Revealing Hurtful Ways: “Reveal to me any hurtful way within me, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” – Psalm 139:24
Entrepreneurship often presents obstacles and challenges that can lead to stress, frustration, and the temptation to compromise one’s values. In this part of the prayer, David asks for the revelation of any hurtful ways within him. Similarly, entrepreneurs should strive for self-awareness, identifying any behaviors or practices that may cause harm to themselves, others, or their business. By recognizing and addressing these hurtful ways, entrepreneurs can cultivate a nurturing and sustainable environment for themselves and their ventures.
